Botox Cosmetic
Photos are of actual clients treated by Karen Sticka PA-C, with permission to post.
Botox was injected into her Glabellar Complex between the eyes. This is the area tha pulls the eyebrows together and down, making a frown or angry skowl.. Here, Botox will actually allow the opposite to take place and her results demonstrate elevation of the middle part of the brow, making her look happier and more awake.
Between Brows and Crow's Feet
For MAXIMUM eyebrow lift, it is important to inject both muscle groups that pull the eyebrows down. The Glabella pulls the middle brow inwards and downwards. The Orbicularis Oculi, also referred to as the crow's feet. pull the lateral part of the brows downwards. We chose not to inject her Frontalis (forehead muscle) as this is the only muscle that actually lifts here brows and injecting it will improve the forehead lines but often result in lower brows. This could make her eyes look a little droopy and she might have a hard time putting on eye make-up since she could not elevate this muscle.
Between Brows
With deeper lines, there may be a smaller line at rest left in the area of maximal contraction. With repeated treatments every 3-4 months, this line will continue to fade. When appropriate filler may be injected here as well for better results.

Corners of the Mouth
While it takes many muscles to create a smile, it only takes 1 muscle to frown. This is referred to as the DAO muscle. As we lose volume, the corners pull down and make us look sad and creates jowls. After the Botox kicks in, she will not be able to frown. Taking away a negative expression is very acceptable, no one will ask her why she's not mad or sad looking.
